Trataka means gazing at a fixed point, such as the steady flame of a ghee lamp.

To practice, place a ghee lamp in a still, dark room, at arm’s length, at eye level.

Gaze at the flame with both eyes, without blinking, until tears form. This usually takes a few minutes. Then relax the eyes by gently cupping the palms of your hands over your eyes for an equal amount of time, blinking normally.

meditation for relaxation and wellness

The meditation practice quiets the mind, improves concentration and memory, strengthens visual acuity, and helps to calm the mind.  It promotes ojas which maintains immunity, strength, integrity and vitality. A beautiful way to end your evenings at Bhakti Fest.
